Thanksgiving!

Our Nelson Fam came to town for Thanksgiving! It was so fun to be able to show them our new home! On Monday afternoon Mom and Dad flew in so we went in and met Zach for dinner! The next day before Taylor and Kitti got in we went and got all of the grocery shopping done for Thanksgiving.

Once everyone got here we went and had dinner in Georgetown and walked around there. We walked over to Baked & Wired (obviously) and we had missed them closing by 5 min! Zach was VERY sad. After that we went and walked the monuments. We didnt intend on walking them all, but once we started we just kept going!

The next day was Thanksgiving! We got started slowly that day! Ray and Kitti stayed with us, and we didnt see either of them until 11am I'm pretty sure. We went and walked around Arlington Cemetery before dinner. Ray said he was going to run there and meet us. He got lost and it turned into an 8 mile run.. haha! No guilt for him for Thanksgiving Dinner!

The next day was our museum day! Zach and I have been to all of the museums, so we met them half way through with donuts from our favorite donut place, Sugar Shack! Taylor did not fully (or at all) appreciate the museums! haha!
Saturday was their last day! We went to breakfast at Founding Farmers.. YUM! And then went by the temple. This was my moms temple growing up so she wanted to go see it again! It was so fun having the fam here, cant wait until the next visit guys!!

Friendsgiving!

The Saturday before Thanksgiving we decided to have a Friendsgiving Dinner! Everyone brought a couple of dishes (and desserts) and it was SO yummy! Zach made homemade rolls which were delish. Carley is awesome and made homemade pies that were so stunning... and delicious. I was pretty impressed for a bunch of people who have never made their own Thanksgiving Dinner before!

Pearl girl was loving the rolls. She is our favorite.
After dinner we played games of course. Our new thing is to play catch phrase with accents... and it is hilarious! That should always be a rule.
We also played reverse charades and we were very committed to our acting.
It was so much fun and we are so grateful for the friends we have made out here! They are the best!

November Happenings

A few other November happenings...
They had a party at work for Zach and Nameir for passing the bar! SO glad that is done, and SO proud of him for passing!
Went to the Zoo this week with some girls from my ward. Zach and I had gone when we first moved here and it was packed and all the animals were hiding. This day no one was there and all the animals were out playing! It was awesome!
My friend Carley is getting certified to teach body attack and Zach and I were her first subjects. She did so good though, too good, I couldnt move the next day!
Temple day!
Fall on the east coast in so pretty!

We have been having game nights. This was our first time playing Catch Phrase with accents. Everyone try it. Its the best.
Starting to collect Christmas Decor! So excited for the holidays with my lover!

Our First Visitors!

We finally had our first visitors and I was SO EXCITED! It was only fitting that it was my BFF since childhood. Mallory used to come on family vacations with us when I was younger, so it was fun to be vacationing together again. She came with her husband Daniel and they are big history buffs. Zach and I are not quiteeeee as into it as they are, but I think we definitely kept up! haha! We were getting 25,000 steps a day. She had a LONG list of things she wanted to see in just a couple of days, and although I didnt think it could be done, we did it! The night they got here we went to dinner at national harbor which was fun! Then the next day the sightseeing began! We went to the city and started at the Holocaust Museum. After we went through security the security guard asked me to remove the scissors from my purse. I was like oh I dont have scissors in there, you can look. And the guard said no, there are scissors in your purse, and we need you to remove them. WHOOPS! Had to toss those after trying to get into the Capital.

It was the PERFECT weather for walking around. And Arlington Cemetery looked so pretty with the fall colors showing.

Daniel is good friends with Adam (our good friends out here), so we met up with them for dinner. Immediately when we are with Adam and Carley we have to snatch Pearl. We LOVE her!! Seriously, have you seen a cuter smile?!
We did an hour long tour of the capital, which could/should have been done in about 10 min. But at least we've seen it now.
It was SUCH A FUN weekend having Mal here! And Daniel of course. I love that with Mallory we are always able to pick up right where we left off. I cant wait for the next visit, Mal!!

Happy Birthday to ME

Happy Birthday to me! I turned 27, and it was a great day! I went with my friend Carley to Old Town Alexandria for lunch and shopping. She also made me yummy cookies... she is the best! I hadn't been down to that area yet so it was fun to explore!
After Zach got off work we went to dinner at National Harbor!

Also, how cute are those shoes?! Zach is the best.
We of course ended the night with our favorite Baked & Wired cupcakes! My Sweetie made it a great birthday and I looooove him!
